Make Sure Your Online Printing Company Uses FSC-Certified Recycled Paper

March 2nd, 2012

The Forest Stewardship Council promotes the conservation-minded use of forestry products around the world. Their certification of an associate member means that that member complies with certain standards regarding the environment, community relations, workers rights, and the rights and traditions of indigenous peoples. The council encourages forest management which promotes the conservation and sustainability of forestry.

To be associated with the council, as Conquest Graphics is, means that we subscribe to all of the goals of the council and that we can prove, through our compliance with chain of custody standards, that the paper we use comes from forestation which has been properly managed or that it is recycled in accordance with the FSC standards, which means that we use paper which is chlorine-free and which has a PCW rating of at least 10%, which refers to the amount of post consumer waste.

If you are an intermediate user of one of our products, in other words, if you print and distribute catalogs printed by us for the promotion of your business, then you should know that many people who may be in receipt of your catalog (the end users) are sensitive to issues of the environment and exploitation of natural resources.

Interestingly, this is an issue which cuts across almost all political views. It’s almost impossible to antagonize a potential customer by being pro-environment, but being indifferent on these issues or not having a clear position on these issues is almost a sure way to lose potential business or to have a potential customer deal with someone who makes the statement that they are clearly pro-environment.

Beyond those aspects of the matter, we at Conquest Graphics believe that being pro-environment is also a way to ensure that there are plenty of supplies of affordable paper available for all green printing needs in the future. The practices which we subscribe to promote sustainability, which means that forests are not being depleted by harvesting. Rather, they are being intelligently renewed. The forests themselves, not just the trees, are “evergreen”.

Contact Conquest Graphics today regarding your next print job, and you and your own customers can rest assured that your job will be done with paper which passes muster with the Forest Stewardship Council.
